School districts across the U.S. have eliminated education jobs in recent years because of devastating budget cuts.
Although many institutions have added science teacher jobs because of a national initiative to bolster education in this field, many departments have been forced to reduce their staff. Teacher pay is also on the chopping block in states such as Wisconsin, where lawmakers recently approved a bill that will limit collective bargaining rights for educators.
A recent press release by the Dallas-based company School Office Pro suggests that school districts should start leveraging cost-saving solutions rather than eliminating staff or reducing benefits for teachers. The company states that enrollment and registration procedures can lead to millions of dollars worth of waste every year.
Web-based systems can save schools up to 90 percent on its registration and enrollment services, School Office Pro estimates.
"Most schools don't even realize they are essentially throwing money away, [funds] that could be used to keep schools open and teachers employed," Chris Lively, CEO of School Office Pro. |
