Diehard Studio Entertainment has announced the release of Dwayne Ferguson's most recent ebook, Mutant ABCs. The book, which utilizes alphabet-shaped aliens as a means to teach children how to read, is intended to be used by parents, kindergarten and early childhood teachers to promote literacy education.
Ferguson has stated his belief that ebooks are an ideal platform for the teaching of reading, as, with bright colors, moving pictures and voice-overs, they are more engaging for young children. Ferguson, who has worked as a teacher for over 20 years and served as the art director for a popular children's television show, has employed these techniques in his writing of more than 40 books.
"Learning the alphabet is the important first step in learning how to read," said Ferguson. "I want to connect with the imaginations of kids to entertain them and while I’m doing so, teach them. Mutant ABCs engages, entertains and teaches kids all at the same time."
The Mutant ABCs ebook is available for download at the Apple iTunes App Store and is compatible with the iPhone and iPad. |
