Virtual education is becoming a popular option for many families in the U.S.
Computer-based programs have benefited K-12 students of all ages and skills, particularly those who prefer an individualized learning experience. This alternative is also a growing trend among kids who do not perform well in a traditional classroom environment.
Last week, administrators from the Pennsylvania Virtual Charter School (PAVCS) visited their peers at the Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School (PA Cyber) in the town of Midland. The officials met for two days, touring local facilities and discussing new practices and ideas to improve their programs.
The host team was led by Nick Trombetta, founder and CEO of PA Cyber. He voiced his enthusiasm for the event, at which staff members with more than 10 years of experience were able to discuss and share their views and expertise.
"It is very helpful for our administrative people to sit down with their peers on this visit to discuss common problems and share exciting new initiatives," said Joanne Jones Barnett, the CEO of PAVCS. "Our two schools have long communicated and collaborated in many ways, including a continuing effort with other cyber and charter schools to ensure that families have the option of educational choice." |
