| Philadelphia to host NBC News education initiative |

Education Nation On-The-Road, a traveling national exhibit sponsored by NBC News, will pull into Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on June 5th. This initiative, which has already made stops in Los Angeles and Chicago, has been created in an effort to stimulate the national dialogue that was opened as a result of last fall's Education Nation exposition in New York City.
As part of this program, NBC News and partner stations in the Philadelphia area will broadcast educational programing over the course of next week. A series of special events that will feature prominent leaders in the community have been planned, and students, parents and teachers are expected to join in forums to discuss the issues and brainstorm ideas for change.
"We all must work together to try and improve education in America, and the Education Nation initiative is designed to do just that," said Dennis Bianchi, the president and general manager of NBC 10 Philadelphia. "We are thrilled that NBC News is bringing this tour to Philadelphia and we look forward to engaging our viewers on this critical issue." |
