| University of Arizona holds teacher appreciation event on campus |

The University of Arizona (UA), in conjunction with Tuson Values Teachers, has announced that it will honor K-12 educators by holding a campus open house this weekend.
As part of National Teacher Appreciation Week, UA will open its museums and libraries to allow teachers, along with three family members, to enter and explore, free of charge. The Flandrau Science Center and the Bio5 Institute are two locations where events and activities will be taking place. The Poetry Center and the World of Words library will be open to the public as well.
School supply companies OfficeMax and Walgreens will be on campus over the course of the day, and will be handing out free samples.The UA College of Education will also be providing giveaways for teachers. Organizations such as the Girl Scouts are scheduled to be part of this event as well, and will be setting up a table in the middle of campus, where teachers will be able to bedazzle a water bottle.
The event, which has been billed as an effort to thank and honor public school teachers, will take place between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on April 30. |
