McGraw-Hill Higher Education has announced that it will award scholarships, iPads and Flip cameras to the winners of its Do More and Win! video competition. The contest, which was sponsored in part by Blackboard Learn, was open to all college students and was intended to promote the partnership the two companies will forge later this spring.
The 25 students who were named the winners of the contest were chosen from a pool of more than 75 applicants. All competitors submitted original videos that illustrated how they believe technology is vital and effective in advancing education and academic success.
The top three videos selected were submitted by students at James Madison University, Liberty University and Westmoreland Community College. These individuals, as first-prize winners, will be awarded $5,000 scholarships. The other 22 chosen participants will receive devices that can be used to further their education, such as iPads and Flip cameras.
"The video contest provided a fun and unique way for student voices to be heard, and for them to use their creativity to show how deeply digital education is tied to important student outcomes, including increasing engagement and improving academic results," said Sharon Loeb, the senior director of strategic marketing at McGraw-Hill Higher Education. |
