Universal Studios Hollywood has announced that all educators in California are eligible for discounted theme park tickets through March 31, 2011.
The popular tourist destination revealed its "Salute to Educators" program on Monday, which will offer 50 percent savings on one-day admission tickets. All K-12 public, private and charter school teachers, as well as all school personnel, are eligible to participate in the promotion. Each educator is eligible to purchase up to three tickets for friends and family, in addition to their own.
Universal Studios Hollywood first reached out to the education sector over a decade ago, when it introduced a curriculum entitled "Youth and Education." The interactive program allows students to participate in fun activities in the theme park that are designed to meet California State Standards and California Technical Education Standards.
Meanwhile, an amusement park in Connecticut has challenged students to participate in a sidewalk art contest in the spring. The Quarry Amusement Park recently announced that it will host Tobacco Free Day on May 15 to mark the park's first year as a non-smoking facility, and students who attend the event can participate in an Art in the Park contest. The event will allow kids to incorporate anti-smoking slogans into their artwork. |
